Why a number at all

Every padel WhatsApp group is a permanent negotiation about the fourth player. A level that both people can look up ends that negotiation in one message.

Why you can lose and go up

Matches are rated on margin against expectation, never on who won. Beat the expectation and the number moves your way even in defeat — which is the only way a rating survives contact with a club where everybody plays everybody.

Nobody can move your number

There is no admin override. A rating is a pure function of the match log: every rated match you have ever played is replayed from scratch, and the result is the weighted average of all of them. That is why the working is published rather than described.

What it costs

The Americano scoreboard is free and needs no account. Rankings are free. If that changes, it will not change retroactively for matches already played.
